This is the first year
Caille offered this design outboard. The metal box
beneath the fuel tank was designed to contain four 1 1/2
volt dry cell batteries and a "buzz" coil which would
make this battery ignition motor, self contained. I
purchased this motor from a New York collector in March
2000. He had reproduced some parts including the fuel
tank and battery box. In the summer of 2009, I picked
up where he left off and completed a mechanical
restoration. I first ran it on a boat in Oct. 2009.
