These unique outboards were
offered in the late 1940's and early 50's. They are
made of two halves that are each, one piece castings
from the top of the cylinder block to the bottom of the
skeg. You have to unbolt the motor into two halves to
get to anything from the pistons to the gears in the
lower unit. I purchased this motor from a New York
collector in 1979. It had internal engine problems. I
took it apart and repaired it and restored the
appearance in 1996. I have had ongoing carburetion
problems that remain to be solved.
