These motors were sold by
Firestone tire stores and were made by Scott-Attwater.
They tend to be difficult to keep in working order because
of an oddly located and difficult to service water pump.
This motor has an engine mounted speedometer called a
Knot-O-Meter. I got this motor from a New York collector
in 1995. I first tried to get it in running order in 2004
by replacing the water pump and some ignition parts. It
ran some, but not quite right. I went back and did some
more ignition work in 2009 and it now seems to run fine. |
